Two military pin badges on a notebook page
What I noticed
My cousin went and married a sailor. He’s a nice bloke and was kind enough to present me with the two badges in the picture. The top one - of two dolphins either side of the crown is the badge of the submarine service of the UK, and the lower is awarded to those who serve on the SSBNs - the nuclear-powered submarines which carry the UK’s nuclear deterrent.
Talking to him about life on a submarine patrol, I’m awestruck by the dedication these men and women have to their work. You would struggle to get me one of those things for an hour, let alone for weeks and months at a time.
Who in your life does an extraordinary job? Celebrate them.
